West Virginia got a decent performance from pitcher Junior Elliott, but it wasn't enough to beat the Tri-City ValleyCats. Tri-City won the Joseph L. Bruno Stadium contest, 4-3. Elliott threw 8.0 innings allowing 4 runs for the losing team. Tri-City is in last place in the Stedler Division with a record of 17-29.

Ron Green had a timely hit for Tri-City in the bottom of the eighth. With two out and a runner on 2nd, Green hit a run-scoring single off Junior Elliott. It put the ValleyCats in front, 4-3.

After the game, Tri-City manager Wes Timmons applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
