Spinners Beat ValleyCats, 6-2
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Tri-City ValleyCats and Lowell Spinners get after it.
The Lowell Spinners beat the Tri-City ValleyCats, 6-2, at Edward A. LeLacheur Park. The Spinners got a fine performance from third baseman José Puente, who was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Flavio Dionisotti, now 1-0, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 2 and walking 0. Jesús Córdova was called on to finish, recording his 5th save.
Lowell took a 6-2 lead on Puente's 2nd home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which he hit off Regis Barbiusa in the bottom of the seventh, propelled Lowell to the win.
"Winning never gets dull," said Puente.
The Spinners move to 24-18 with the win, while the ValleyCats drop to 16-26.
