Tigers Win Streak Now at 8 After 4-3 Victory
The Connecticut Tigers racked up a win at Senator Thomas J. Dodd Memorial Stadium, bumping off the Tri-City ValleyCats, 4-3. Juan Martínez, who started for Connecticut, pitched effectively for his team. Martínez got the win, improving to 2-0. He gave up 6 hits and walked 1 over 6.1 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Filip Pauw saved it for Connecticut.

Connecticut right fielder José García contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 12th hit of the season and put the Tigers ahead, 4-1.

"Right now, things are falling our way," said Connecticut manager Bo Porter.

The loss makes Tri-City 13-11.
