Tigers Jolt Ironbirds, 8-6, with Late Rally
The Connecticut Tigers defeated the Aberdeen Ironbirds, 8-6. Left Fielder Chet Thompson deserved a large share of the credit. Thompson went 2-5 with a home run, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for the Tigers. Filip Pauw finished the game for Connecticut and earned his 5th save. With the victory, the Tigers upped their record to 14-7.

With Connecticut trailing 6-4 in the top of the ninth, Thompson hit a fastball from Etelson Peltier for a grand slam home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Tigers ahead, 8-6.

"The key is not trying to do too much," said Thompson.
