4-2 Win Gets Connecticut to 10-7
Joe Gibbs, who is rated as the 52nd best prospect by BNN, propelled his team to victory over the West Virginia Black Bears. The final score was 4-2, Connecticut. Gibbs, now 2-0, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. Filip Pauw sewed up the save, his 3rd.

Don Robison had a big 2-run double for the Tigers in the bottom of the first inning. With Connecticut leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from 19-year old left-handed pitcher Anastasio Cabrera and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 3rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Tigers ahead, 3-0.

After the game, Connecticut manager Bo Porter applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.

The Black Bears, now 4-13, have lost 4 in a row.
