Round 2 Game 1 Victory for Sawyer and Lynchburg
The Lynchburg Hillcats started the Round 2 in style, downing the visiting Winston-Salem Dash at Ed Smith Stadium by a score of 4-2 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Hillcats right-hander Jerry Sawyer threw 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball.

Had Chris Bow delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Bow lined out. The score remained 4-2, Lynchburg, and the Hillcats were out of the jam.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Ed Smith Stadium in Lynchburg.
