The Rome Hammers soundly defeated the Lexington Legends, 14-2, at State Mutual Stadium, with left fielder José García a major reason why. He went 3 for 5 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for Rome. Jesús Martínez earned the win, while 22-year old right-handed pitcher Jonathan Pipard took the loss for Lexington. Rome is now 82-54, 12 games up in the Southern Division.
