Spirited fans greeted the Chicago Cubs for their clash with the Cincinnati Reds.

Walt Sharpe never let Chicago get something going. The Cincinnati left-hander commanded his changeup in pitching the Reds to a 6-1 win. Sharpe yielded 1 run over 5 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 1, and struck out 4. His record improves to 3-3.

Cincinnati relied on the hitting of Leury Garcia to pick up the win. The shortstop ripped a 2-run triple in the top of the sixth inning to put the Reds on top, 4-1. For the game, Garcia had 2 triples and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"Today was a lot of fun," said Garcia.
