Shorebirds Defeat Crawdads in 11

Darío Vargas never let Hickory get something going. The Delmarva right-hander commanded his cutter in pitching the Shorebirds to a 2-1 win. Delmarva reliever Robinson García picked up the win, while José Pérez took the loss for Hickory. Hickory, at 42-58, has lost 4 straight.
The defining moment came in the bottom of the 11th for Delmarva. That's when Joe Fletcher hit a solo home run off 22-year old left-handed pitcher José Pérez to win the game. The home crowd went wild.
"When you are able to locate the ball, good things are going to happen," said Vargas.
