Greensboro Gets 5-2 Win
|
The Greensboro Grasshoppers topped the West Virginia Power, 5-2, at Appalachian Power Park. Greensboro second baseman Brad Connolly was a spark plug for the offense. He went 2-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Picking up the save was Ken Patrick. He's now 19 for 21 in save chances. Greensboro leads the Northern Division by 2 games.
Greensboro shortstop Seb Chang contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the first. With two down, he hit a curveball to right-center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 77th hit of the season and put the Grasshoppers ahead, 1-0.
Chang attributed the win to "an all-around good team performance."
