The Delmarva Shorebirds beat the Greensboro Grasshoppers, 6-4, at NewBridge Bank Park. The win was due in part to third baseman José Guillén, who was 4-5 with 4 singles. Darío Vargas got the win, improving to 7-3. He worked 6 innings, giving up 4 runs on 11 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. The victory gives Delmarva a record of 47-44.

The Shorebirds benefited from a costly error in the top of the eighth. With Jon Ramos at bat and Delmarva leading 5-4, the Greensboro miscue allowed Delmarva to plate 1 and take the lead, 6-4.

"Pleased with the effort and the win," said Shorebirds manager Tripp Keister.
