BlueClaws Rally Late to Clip Kannapolis

Lakewood picked up a win at First Energy Park, bumping off the Kannapolis Intimidators, 4-3. Pitcher Kevin Rodgers was a major reason the BlueClaws emerged victorious. Rodgers, the winner, moves to 10-4. He threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 9 and giving up 1 walk. The BlueClaws move to 51-33 with the win, while the Intimidators drop to 44-40.
Jorge Acevedo, who is tied for 3rd in the SAL in doubles with 22, took Kannapolis hurler Steve Boucher deep in the bottom of the eighth. His 2-run home run put the BlueClaws on top, 4-3. In all, Acevedo had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"Kevin attacked hitters and trusted his stuff," said Lakewood manager Shawn Kelley.
