González Now 5-3 After Beating Sand Gnats
|
The Delmarva Shorebirds downed the Savannah Sand Gnats, 1-0, at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium. Delmarva pitcher Alfredo González had a scintillating performance. Delmarva is now 42-36. Savannah is 45-33.
González's performance can only be described as masterful. He notched 7 strikeouts in 7.1 innings while allowing 3 hits. González goes to 5-3 on the year with 92 strikeouts.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Delmarva manager Tripp Keister said.
