Shorebirds Turn Back Grasshoppers, 3-2

The Delmarva Shorebirds downed the Greensboro Grasshoppers, 3-2, at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium. The Shorebirds were led by Mabarak Afridi. Afridi went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk. Robinson García got credit for the save for Delmarva. It was his 22nd of the year. The Shorebirds improved their record to 38-32 with the win over Greensboro.
Joe Fletcher, who is tied for 8th in the SAL with a .395 on-base percentage, helped out the Delmarva cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the shortstop went 1 for 4 with a walk.
"We had the right guys up at the right times," said Greensboro manager J.A. Happ. "We just didn't cash in."
