Sand Gnats Bang Out 9-1 Win Versus Lexington
Behind the bravura of third baseman Ed Thomas, the Savannah Sand Gnats topped the Lexington Legends by the score of 9-1. Thomas went 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Sand Gnats. José Agodo went 5.1 innings for Savannah to pick up the win. The right-hander was charged with 1 run. He scattered 5 hits, while walking 4 and striking out 7. His record improves to 1-0. Jerry Kahwagi got credit for the save for Savannah. It was his 2nd of the year.

Early in the game, Thomas had a 2-run double for Savannah. It was his 19th double of the season and put the Sand Gnats on top, 2-0.

"I think it speaks for itself, I think we came out and we played our kind of baseball," said Thomas.

Savannah is now 39-29, while Lexington is 37-31.
