The Kannapolis Intimidators picked up a win at First Energy Park, topping the Lakewood BlueClaws, 4-1. On the mound for Kannapolis was right-hander Eric Banks. He played a principal role in the triumph. Steve Murdoch earned the save for Kannapolis, his 12th. With the win over Lakewood, the Intimidators improved to 35-26.

Kannapolis used the timely hitting of Luis Yan to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Intimidators on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Enjoyed this one," Yan told the Kannapolis Herald. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
