Randy Rose pitched well, but his team, the Hickory Crawdads, still dropped a 2-0 decision to the Greensboro Grasshoppers at NewBridge Bank Park. Hickory is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 7 in a row.

José Baca, who is tied for 10th in the SAL in RBI with 30, took Hickory hurler Randy Rose deep in the bottom of the seventh. His solo home run put the Grasshoppers on top, 1-0. In all, Baca had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.

"I thought we competed really well," said Grasshoppers manager J.A. Happ. "I thought the energy was really good."
