Lexington designated hitter Ed Barton contributed significantly to his team's 4-2 win over the Rome Firebirds. Barton, who is tied for 10th in the SAL with a 2.55 ERA, went 2 for 4 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Legends. With this game in the books, Lexington is 28-27, Rome 35-20.

The game turned with one out in the bottom of the fourth. That's when Barton hit a solo home run off Jorge Soto. It propelled the Legends into the lead, 1-0.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Barton.
