Grasshoppers Fall Short, 3-2, at West Virginia
The West Virginia Power locked up a win at Appalachian Power Park, knocking off the Greensboro Grasshoppers, 3-2. On the mound for West Virginia was right-hander Joe Wolfe. He played a major role in the triumph. The winning pitcher was Wolfe, now 4-2. He tossed 6 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 7. Esteban Vallés picked up his 10th save of the season.

West Virginia pinch hitter Jody English helped the Power go up, 3-2, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, English hit a run-scoring single off Greensboro pitcher Don Benson.

"I put my work in and trusted the process," said Wolfe.

Today's win puts West Virginia at 24-30, while Greensboro falls to 34-20.
