The Rome Hammers did just enough to sneak past the Lexington Legends, 1-0, at Whitaker Bank Ballpark. Rome pitcher Joe Kidd, in particular, had a standout performance. The Hammers are now 32-21.

Kidd confounded Lexington hitters. Over 8.1 innings, he allowed no runs on 2 hits.

"We didn't score," said losing manager Brad Lincoln. "That was the problem."
