Simmons has 4 hits in Intimidators Win

The Kannapolis Intimidators downed the Greensboro Grasshoppers, 7-2, at CMC-NorthEast Stadium. Sammy Simmons led the way, going 4-for-4 for Kannapolis. The win was credited to 23-year old right-handed pitcher Dave Adams in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Jarred Turner took the loss. With the win, the Intimidators have a record of 28-23.
With Kannapolis trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Simmons hit a curveball from Jarred Turner for a 2-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Intimidators ahead, 2-1.
"We understand we didn't play our best baseball," said losing manager J.A. Happ. "We'll shower it off and be ready to compete."
