The Greensboro Grasshoppers knocked off the West Virginia Power, 6-5, in South Atlantic League action at NewBridge Bank Park. Greensboro pitcher and Windsor, Colorado, native Don Benson had an outstanding performance. Greensboro reliever Ken Patrick picked up the win, while Esteban Vallés took the loss for West Virginia. The win for the Grasshoppers raised their record to 28-14.

José Baca was the walk-off hero for Greensboro. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Grasshoppers designated hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"We couldn't have scripted it any better," Baca said in his postgame press conference.
