BlueClaws 8-1 Winners Over Kannapolis
|
The Lakewood BlueClaws knocked off the Kannapolis Intimidators, 8-1, at First Energy Park. Brad Penn was a big reason Lakewood won. The shortstop went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Jim Barker, the winning pitcher, improved to 1-1. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 6 hits and 1 run, while striking out 6 and walking 3. After today's action, Lakewood sits at 25-16; Kannapolis slips to 22-19.
Don Crouch helped his team take an early lead with a run-scoring single. It came in the first inning, making the score 1-0, BlueClaws.
