Kannapolis Intimidators starter Luis Díaz turned in a top-notch performance against the Augusta GreenJackets at CMC-NorthEast Stadium. The result was a win for the Intimidators, 7-2. Díaz, now 3-2, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 9, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. With the victory, the Intimidators upped their record to 20-16.

Jorge Romero had a big 2-run double for the Intimidators in the bottom of the first inning. With Kannapolis leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a slider from Adrián Aguilar and swatted a double to left. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Intimidators ahead, 3-0.

"Really good pitchers have that ability to raise their game when they need to," said Kannapolis manager Carlos Mota.
