Tourists Win at Home, 4-3
|
The Asheville Tourists withstood a fine game by Lexington left fielder Juan Carlos Pérez at McCormick Field, to upend the Legends, 4-3. Pérez was 4-5 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs. After today's action, Asheville sits at 16-18, while Lexington falls to 12-22.
Asheville center fielder Mario Aguilar contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 31st hit of the season and put the Tourists ahead, 4-1.
"Both teams played hard," said Asheville manager Dave Turgeon.
