Hickory Crawdads pitcher Dave Rankin was in fine form, leading his team past the Charleston RiverDogs, 2-1. The triumph puts Hickory at 16-16 for the season.

Mike Taylor had a big run-scoring double for the Crawdads in the bottom of the third inning. With Hickory leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a curveball from Lou Lane and swatted a double to left. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Crawdads ahead, 2-0.

"It wasn't easy, but we got it done," said Taylor.
