Behind the hitting of Phil Cooper, the Kannapolis Intimidators stopped the Delmarva Shorebirds, 6-5. Cooper was 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles for the Intimidators. Orlando Reyna earned the win. Darío Vargas, who is tied for 4th in the SAL in wins with 4, took the loss for Delmarva. With this game in the books, Kannapolis is 18-14, Delmarva 20-12.

With Kannapolis leading 5-1 in the top of the third, Cooper came up to bat against Delmarva pitcher Jim Mann. Cooper hit a fastball to left for a solo home run. His 4th home run of the season put the Intimidators on top, 6-1.

"Phil was ready to go. Big day for him," said Kannapolis manager Osamu Hamanaka.
