Asheville took on Hagerstown in front of a lively crowd.

The Asheville Tourists topped the Hagerstown Suns, 7-2, with youngster Butch Fowler playing a key role. Fowler was 2-3 with 2 singles and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Tourists in the win. Jim Wood recorded his 1st save for Asheville.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Juan Reyes? The Asheville right fielder had a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put the Tourists on top, 2-0. For the game, Reyes had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Fowler.

After today's action, Asheville sits at 12-17; Hagerstown slips to 7-22.
