Riding the 3-hit performance of the 22-year old second baseman Mike Taylor, the Asheville Tourists stopped the Charleston RiverDogs, 5-0, in 9 innings. Steve Nelson earned the win to go to 2-2. He allowed no runs on 8 hits, with no walks and 7 strikeouts in 6.2 innings of work. Alan Parker earned the save, his 1st.

In the top of the fifth of a scoreless game, Taylor hit a 3-run home run to put his team ahead.

"We did a lot of good things tonight," said Asheville manager Dave Turgeon.

The win puts Asheville at 12-14.
