Grasshoppers Win, 2-1, Versus Suns
|
The Greensboro Grasshoppers topped the Hagerstown Suns, 2-1, at Municipal Stadium. Greensboro designated hitter Doug Brown was a spark plug for the offense. He was 1 for 2 with a walk and was hit by a pitch. Greensboro reliever Brit Connolly picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Jim Wallace took the loss. Hagerstown, now 6-16, continues its tough start.
Dan McKnight had a direct impact on the outcome. McKnight contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the first inning to put Greensboro up, 1-0.
"Every time I go up there, I try and hit a ball hard," said Brown.
