The Delmarva Shorebirds faced a tough opponent in Lakewood pitcher José López, but did just enough to pull out the victory at First Energy Park by a final score of 4-3. López went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run. Robinson García earned the save for Delmarva, his 7th. The BlueClaws, 10-11, continue their so-so start to the 2025 season.

Bernardo Álvarez, who is tied for 10th in the SAL in triples with 1, helped out the Delmarva cause in the top of the eighth inning with a 2-run triple. For the game, the designated hitter went 1-1 with a triple. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

"Being able to play a game for a living is one thing. Being able to play it well and contribute to a win is even better," Álvarez told the Delmarva News.
