The Greenville Drive beat the Rome Hammers, 7-3, at State Mutual Stadium. Greenville third baseman Aguostinho Padia had an outstanding performance. He was 2-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Greenville pitcher Steve Foster got the win, upping his record to 4-0. Joe Kidd got the loss. Greenville goes to 10-10.

Greenville needed the clutch hitting of Andy Cook to seal the deal. The second baseman swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Drive on top, 5-3. For the game, Cook had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
