The Charleston RiverDogs downed the Greensboro Grasshoppers, 7-5, at NewBridge Bank Park. The RiverDogs were led by Jorge Alvarado. Alvarado was 4 for 5 with a triple and 2 doubles, while scoring 2. Edgar López earned the save for Charleston, his 4th of the year. The loss has the Grasshoppers at 11-6.

The result might have been different, had it not been for 22-year old left fielder Jorge Cantú. Cantú had a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put the RiverDogs ahead, 6-5. For the game, Cantú had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"It's still just a game," said Alvarado, "whether you win or lose."
