Intimidators second baseman Waylon Scharf left his mark on his team's 12-1 win over the Greensboro Grasshoppers. Scharf hit 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice for Kannapolis in the contest. Picking up the save was Juan Vázquez, his 1st. The win has Kannapolis at 3-6.

With Kannapolis leading 3-0 in the bottom of the third, Scharf came up to bat against Greensboro pitcher Merlin Mullins. Scharf hit a fastball to right-center for a 2-run double. His 2nd double of the season put the Intimidators on top, 5-0.

Said losing manager J.A. Happ: "The at-bats, obviously, needed to be better."
