Down to Defeat Goes Kannapolis, 5-3
|
The Lexington Legends topped the Kannapolis Intimidators, 5-3, in South Atlantic League action at Whitaker Bank Ballpark. The game was highlighted by the performance of Lexington pitcher Aurelio Quintana. Mitch Davis closed out the game, earning his 1st save. The win gives Lexington a record of 2-0.
The Legends got a big at-bat from right fielder Rubén Sánchez. For the game, Sánchez went 2-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 1st double of the season gave Lexington a 4-3 lead.
"For the most part, I felt like I did a pretty good job with executing the pitches I was throwing," said Quintana.
