Cubs Topple Lugnuts with Late Rally
The Lansing Lugnuts got a sterling performance from pitcher Ed Buschlen, but the South Bend Cubs still prevailed, 7-2. Buschlen threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball. With the win, the Cubs sit at 68-55.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Jorge Cortéz? The South Bend designated hitter had a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Cubs on top, 5-2. For the game, Cortéz had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Cortéz.
