BP Proves Dangerous for Caratini Monday, September 14th , 2026 Chicago catcher Victor Caratini was taken to a local hospital earlier this evening when he was struck in the temple by a wayward pitch during batting practice. Caratini, who managed to remain on his feet after the impact, complained of a headache and double-vision moments later. "He pretty well got his clock cleaned," said teammate Ron Hicks, who witnessed the incident. Caratini had a bruise on his cheekbone and complained of some blurred vision, but a CAT-scan revealed no evidence of a concussion or other injuries. However, manager Warren Schaeffer said Caratini would be held out of the lineup for the Cubs next few games as a precaution. |
