Seattle, Toronto Execute Trade Thursday, April 16th , 2026 You can't always get what you want, but sometimes you find a deal anyway. The Baseball News Network is reporting that Seattle and Toronto have made a swap with 28-year old LF Chris Bryan being shipped to the Blue Jays and in return the Mariners would get 30-year old 2B Josh Morgan and 36-year old minor league RHP Sonny Gray. Seattle general manager Damon Macioce said the two sides were close to a blockbuster trade before agreeing upon a smaller scale transaction. "This is just a bit of housekeeping compared to what we wanted to do," he said. "I won't name names, but the potential deal we were close to making would have certainly grabbed some headlines." A source inside the Seattle organization said the two sides might not be done dealing, and another transaction could be in the works. Bryan is currently hitting .206 with no home runsand 0 RBIs, while scoring 3 runs. This year, Morgan is batting .237 with 9 hits, 1 home run, 4 RBIs, 4 walks, .302 OBP and has scored 3 runs. |
