Chicago Trades Mejia for Seattle's Bender Saturday, March 21st , 2026 The Cubs and Mariners have been engaged in a little wheeling and dealing. They have just concluded a trade with 27-year old SS Fidel Mejia going to Seattle in exchange for 20-year old minor league CF Steve Bender and 28-year old C Jed Bly. Chicago will retain a portion of Mejia's remaining contract. In his 623-game career Mejia is hitting .255 with 554 hits, 10 home runs, 236 runs scored and 188 RBIs. |
