McDaniel Hits His Way to Rookie of the Year Award

Tim McDaniel, the rookie center fielder for the San Diego Padres, assured himself of a place in National League history with a solid performance in the 2025 season. He now has a place reserved for him in the league record book under "Rookie of the Year."

The 24-year-old San Diego newcomer took the trophy by hitting .301 in 156 games this season and finished with 170 hits, 25 home runs, 93 RBIs and 89 runs scored.

He received 30 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Josuke Mizuno of the Los Angeles Dodgers finished second in voting, while Rob Snyder of the Chicago Cubs finished third.
