Murray Big Deal in Pittsburgh: Hits for Cycle Thursday, August 28th , 2025 Pittsburgh's Dave Murray accomplished what few others have done -- he hit for the cycle, collecting a single, double, triple and home run in the same game. For the day, Murray finished 4-for-5 with 3 RBI and 4 runs scored and helped the Pirates knock off the St. Louis Cardinals, 11-5, at Busch Stadium. "I didn't even know I was about to hit for the cycle until after," Murray told reporters following the game. "One of the guys mentioned it when I got back to the dugout." Dave Murray doubled in the 2nd, grounded out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Jim Rose in the 5th, hit an RBI triple in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
