Chicago Ships Schwarber to Houston Saturday, July 16th , 2022 The Cubs and Astros pulled the trigger on a deal that will see 29-year old C Kyle Schwarber head to Houston in exchange for 24-year old minor league RHP Chris McCarthy, 24-year old minor league 1B Ben Collins, and 25-year old minor league RHP Dave Harris. A source close to Chicago officials said, "The teams spent long hours coming to the agreement and in the end, both agreed the deal should help both clubs." Chicago will retain a portion of Schwarber's remaining contract. This year Schwarber has collected a .254 batting average to date with 66 hits in 260 at-bats, 53 RBIs, 17 home runs and scored 36 times. He has played in 76 games. |
