San Diego CF Almora Suspended Sunday, May 1st , 2022 San Diego will not have the services of center fielder Albert Almora for several days. The league commissioner has suspended him for 2 games for arguing a third strike call. The altercation occurred in yesterday's contest with the Houston Astros and involved the home plate umpire. Riled up by being called out, Almora slightly shoved him after he was ejected. In baseball it is taboo to touch an umpire. Looking at his present stats, Almora has compiled a .154 batting average in 28 games with a .188 on-base percentage, while hitting no home runs and driving in 7 runs. |
