Cincinnati, Pittsburgh Agree to Trade Tuesday, January 11th , 2022 The Reds and Pirates have been engaged in a little wheeling and dealing. They have just concluded a trade with 32-year old RHP Sonny Gray and 28-year old SS José Morán going to Pittsburgh in exchange for 27-year old 1B Elio Castillo, 34-year old LHP Dallas Keuchel, 28-year old minor league RHP Steve Gibbs, 25-year old minor league CF António Pacheco, and 22-year old minor league RF Jeremy Haley. Cincinnati will retain a portion of Gray's remaining contract. In his career stats, Gray has won 95 and lost 91, collecting 1470 strikeouts and 472 walks in 1555.1 innings with a 3.95 ERA. Opponents have hit .246 against him. In 368 career games Castillo is hitting at a .258 pace with 336 hits with 63 doubles, 2 triples and 50 homers while scoring 207 runs and racking up 199 RBIs. He logged 182 walks and owns a .352 on-base percentage. |
