Firebirds Heading to Division Series Sunday, September 5th , 2021 The Atlanta (DSL) Firebirds received a strong pitching performance and have advanced to the Division Series, with a 3-0 win over the Chicago N (DSL) Cubs in the Wildcard Series. Atlanta (DSL) pitcher Víctor Franco was strong on the mound, leading his team to victory with 6 innings of work. He added 11 strikeouts, while allowing 2 hits, no walks and no runs. Several Cubs players sat in stunned silence on their bench as they watched Atlanta (DSL) players celebrate the win in the middle of the field at Atlanta Braves Complex. "We're admittedly excited right now," Franco said as he took a break from celebrating with his teammates. "To win a one-game playoff, it's thrilling." The Atlanta (DSL) Firebirds don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Minnesota (DSL) Twins - Arizona (DSL) Diamondbacks series.
