The Grand Junction Rockies were almost helpless in their 15-0 loss to the Idaho Falls Chukars and hurler Dan Butler. Butler kept the Rockies confused all game, spinning a 7-hit shutout.

"Tip your hat to Butler," Grand Junction manager Vidal Nuno said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night."

The 21-year-old right-hander had 1 walk and 6 strikeouts in a strong performance.

"It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Butler said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way."

This season, Butler has crafted a 3-2 mark with a 2.14 ERA in 46.1 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .234 against him and he has 55 strikeouts.
