FCL Stops Watkins Hit Streak Monday, September 14th , 2026 It was the best of both worlds for the FCL Phillies at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium, as they defeated the FCL Blue Jays, 2-1, and also snapped Cliff Watkins's 22-game hitting streak. The 20-year-old FCL center fielder failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats. "Nothing personal against Watkins, we just wanted to win the game," said Phillies skipper Billy McMillon. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing." When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Watkins frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won." Watkins is currently hitting at a .383 pace with 6 home runs, 34 RBIs and has scored 34 times. |
