FCL's Watkins Goes Ballistic with 5 Hits Wednesday, September 2nd , 2026 It wasn't just another day at the ballpark for Cliff Watkins. Watkins went on a tear and cracked hit after hit off FCL pitchers. When the dust settled on the diamond at Champion Stadium, he had a 5-for-5 line and a day he will long remember. And the FCL Blue Jays had a win, 9-7, over the Hammers. "Yeah, it'll be something nice to tell the grandkids, but it won't get me a hit tomorrow," he joked in the postgame interview. Cliff Watkins singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off José Pereira in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Wally Daniel in the 9th.
