Miami (GCL) Wins Round 1 Monday, September 8th , 2025 Miami (GCL) Marlins won a nail-biting series against the Houston (GCL) Astros 3-2, wrapping up the Round 1 finale 3-1 at Roger Dean Stadium. Marlins third baseman Spike Abrams was named the series MVP. He batted .444, drove in 4 runs and scored 5 to lead Miami (GCL) into the next round of play. "Spike was real solid for us, real solid," said Marlins manager Shane Greene. "I normally say I'd like to have nine of him out there, but thankfully we got by with just one this time." The Miami (GCL) Marlins will play against the Toronto (GCL) Blue Jays in the next round. Toronto (GCL) won their series against the Minnesota (GCL) Twins 3 games to 0.
