Detroit (GCL) Moves on to Round 2 Monday, September 8th , 2025 It was a rousing finish to the Round 1 at Joker Marchant Stadium today. The Detroit (GCL) Tigers sent the Atlanta (GCL) Firebirds home for the season with a 11-1 win in the decisive game of the series. The Tigers took the series 3-2. Up next on their schedule is the Round 2. Hauling in the MVP trophy was Detroit (GCL) catcher Doug Thompson. His numbers included a .500 batting average, 5 RBIs and 5 runs. "With any luck, I'll be hoisting another one of these at the end of the Round 2," he said. The Detroit (GCL) Tigers will play against the New York N (GCL) Mets in the next round.
